§ 19. SPECIAL ACCESS STANDARDS

  • 19-100.  To facilitate the adequate provision of transportation; to lessen the congestion in the streets; and to secure safety from fire, panic and other dangers, minimum standards of primary access to various uses are herein established with due recognition of the traffic demands created by such uses on different classifications of streets as established by the thoroughfare plan of the City of The Colony.

    (19-101) All buildings and structures shall be set back from the street a minimum distance as specified in this ordinance or the setback as specified in this section from the center line of the street, whichever is greater.

    (19-102)  Street right-of-way standards. The standard right-of-way for streets providing the primary means of access to multiple-family dwellings and institutional uses shall be sixty (60) feet for minor streets, seventy (70) feet for secondary or collector streets and one hundred (100) feet for major streets.

    The standard right-of-way for streets providing the primary means of access to retail, commercial and industrial uses shall be sixty (60) feet for minor streets, seventy (70) feet for secondary or collector streets and one hundred (100) feet for major streets.

    No permit for the erection of a multi-family, institutional, commercial or industrial structure shall be issued on a street of lesser standard than herein specified.
