§ 14-11. Alcoholic beverage regulations; beer and wine permit—Athletic complex.

  • (a)

    Any person or entity shall not store, possess, purchase, sell or serve any alcoholic beverage to anyone for consumption in any athletic complex; except any such person or entity may obtain a special event permit as provided in chapter 4 of this Code, obtain a permit from the city manager or designee and obtain a temporary license from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission in compliance with state law to possess, purchase, sell or serve beer and wine for consumption in such complex.

    (b)

    The city manager shall impose such conditions and regulations for such temporary use permit which complies with temporary license issued by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and to ensure the protection of the health, safety and welfare of the community and occupants of the athletic complex. The city council may establish a fee for such permit by resolution.

    (c)

    The provisions of section 10-2205 of [Appendix A] of the Code of Ordinances regarding distance requirements shall not apply to a special event under this section.
