§ 6-9. Use of combustible materials in construction limited.

  • (a)

    No building permit shall be issued for the construction of any new residential structure containing more than one floor within the city unless the plans therefor provide for construction of not less than 70 percent of the exterior walls thereof, below the first floor plate line, excluding doors and windows, to be of brick, brick veneer, stone, or other masonry or material of equal characteristics, except stucco.

    (b)

    Excepted herefrom are residential structures for which a building permit has been issued prior to the effective date of this section and all additions to residential structures.
