§ 2-7. City attorney.

(a)

The city council shall appoint a city attorney as provided in the Home Rule Charter for an indefinite term and shall serve at the pleasure of the city council. The city attorney shall receive such compensation as the city council may fix.

(b)

The city council may, every three years, solicit requests for proposal for the office of city attorney and may consider reappointment or the appointment of new counsel as the city council may determine in the best interests of the city.
