§ 5-10. Confinement by private citizens.

  • Private citizens may confine animals found on their property provided that they notify the animal control division of their action. In confining such animal, a citizen may not use force likely to hurt or kill the animal. Confined animals may be released to the city free of charge provided the animal is released within three days of confinement. After three days, a pickup fee shall be assessed.
